Legal referrals for Cuba travel-related matters

Bronze La Estatua de la República stands 15 meters (49.25 ft) tall in Cuba's former Capital building in Havana. It weighs 49 tons and is covered in 22 carat gold leaf. Cast in 1927, it was the second highest free standing sculpture in world at the time, the Great Buddha of Nara being taller.

The Cuba Subcommittee of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) and Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) generously provide referrals to attorneys versed on Cuba issues. These organizations have long opposed the US economic blockade of Cuba, as well as travel restrictions, and consider related enforcement actions to be illegal and unconstitutional.

They strongly suggest that anyone who has received a letter regarding Cuba travel from the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) be certain to respond in a timely fashion, and seek legal advice.

Together, they have established a network of lawyers to provide representation on Cuba travel-related matters.
